Stylized family portrait - Happy 40th
This fine lady reminds me of my beloved aunt Margaret, an eternal traveller and opera singer, who introduced me to travel and theatre in the old song and dance way :-) very fond memories
aha! this "dancing queen" started out as a rust stain on the leg of a chair! needless to say she developed into a doodle... now oils, ink, mixed media, wire, pearls etc have transformed her into a dancing legend of sorts! something in the vein of Abba's "dancing queen" to which most of my teenage years were spent dancing to on the disco floor!
I discovered the joy of oils and have been working on some oil and mixed media.... more to come -
Based on my childhood. Opera, theater and flamingos were part of my everyday life. I recently read a great line in a book that I could relate to "it was as though he was auditioning for a bit part in his own life" Patricia Cornwell
once upon a Christmas
who doesn't love tales of Christmas!
started as one swimmer and ended in a chorus line of xmas cheer!

oh this wonderful doodle was inspired by my awesome husband. I found an old photo when he was a young boy in his cowboy outfit :-) He is still sheriff of my town (heart)
I love you Mr V
remember why you started
inspired by my beautiful beloved brave daughter - I love you Miss Bella

the grass is always greener on the other side! doodles have a way of taking on a life of their own :-)
Lady and the Whale
My yearning for the ocean and her creatures shows a whimsical whale comforting the lanquid lady
My love of avant garde and the dramatic are what bring "Red" to life
British and Irish roots led to this "Royal" rebellion.
Part of my Portugal 2015 series - observation, play and joie de vivre are all part of "Destiny Unfolds"
Portugal 2015 - Ahh, the fish are just divine!
Met a man and his wife in Portugal who we chatted to on occasion, he had told us of his miraculous healing while in a coma due to a stroke - I heard & saw his pain and joy- and before he left that week had put together this image for him- I added some encouraging words on the back and give it to him- he was overwhelmed as he saw the details of himself - in various ways - a gatsby hat that he wore to cover his drooping eye, places he'd been, things he loved and his journey -
My love of pattern, colour, a variety of media, and putting all of theses elements together -- this is the most fun of all. Papers, fabrics, objects, colour, textures -- all come together to create amazing images. WOW!!
