February 2016

Hi everyone! Here we are, well into 2016.

I ended 2015 with an in-house art show and sale in mid-December. Thank you to all who stopped by, and congratulations to Sandy and Muriel who took home the original painting of Royal. She now hangs proudly over their fireplace.

Also in December I attended a Christmas party at the Creative Hands workshop of the Phoenix Network. This organization provides a team based, brain health rehabilitation service with expertise in working with individuals who have experienced brain injury as a result of impact or organic trauma, traumatic stress or toxic exposure. I was happy to donate a framed print of Red for raffle at the party. In the photo, Jim, the raffle winner, is being presented with his prize.

A huge “Thank You!!” to all of you who have encouraged and supported me in my art over the past year. Your excitement, your positive feedback and your suggestions are all wonderful! I love these confirmations of my efforts to bring joy-filled, empowering images into the world.

In January, I was busy with a couple of commissioned art pieces. I produced a stylized family portrait of Floyd and Christine’s family, in celebration of Floyd’s 40th birthday.

Then Philip and I produced a shadow-boxed felted and bejeweled heart piece for Holly and Scott’s friends’ 40th wedding anniversary. Both were very happy with their gift.

I placed my first order for the 2016 Spring Collection of cross-body messenger bags, in new spring colours and designs. I was super excited to unpack them when they arrived. The large bags are the perfect size for the iPad Air & the iPad mini fits into the small bag; both have plenty of room for other necessary items. Have a look at them on the web site ( Please email me should you wish to place an order.

In the upcoming months, I will be producing a themed series of art pieces and perhaps producing a few fabric designs.  I have started working on the first pieces, but there will be much more to come as the months roll by. Also on the calendar will be some great spring shows for which I will forward details and relevant information as things come together. Stay tuned! And remember to dream, explore and discover -- everyday!
